Hello, I am Sara Alan-Smith, owner and therapist at Complete Canine Massage Therapy.
I am a professionally-trained and fully-insured clinical canine massage therapist, specialising in providing 100% results-driven remedial, maintenance and sports massage treatments for all types of dogs, with the aim of delivering results that you can see and your dog can feel in as few as 1 to 3 treatment sessions.
My foundation training was undertaken with Natalie Lenton on the intensive and externally accredited 2 year Therapeutic Canine Massage Diploma (now called the Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme) run by the Canine Massage Therapy Centre, which I successfully completed in 2015.
I am a member of the Canine Massage Guild - the professional body for canine masseuses in the UK - which promotes safe practice and high standards including continuing professional development amongst its members.
I am committed to lifelong learning to ensure that I am always providing the very best service possible to my canine clients and their owners, and since completing my Diploma, I have continued to develop my knowledge and skills, incorporating further specialist training with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre including:
- Facilitated Stretching
- Advanced Deep Tissue Techniques
- Further Ventral Aspect Techniques
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage
- Neuromuscular Facilitation (Advanced Trigger Point Techniques)
My background is working with rescue dogs, and in addition to providing clinical canine massage services, I also continue to work as a Dog Trainer, therefore I am used to sensitively assessing and handling a wide range of breeds and characters.
I hold a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and I am also a certified Dog First Aider.
